<p>Tuberculosis is one of the most common infection associated with HIV. It is also the leading cause for death among people suffering from AIDS. Millions of people around the world are infected with both HIV and tuberculosis, and many experts consider the two diseases to be twin epidemics.</p>

<h2><strong>2. Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV)</strong></h2>
<p>Herpes Simplex Virus usually causes genital herpes. It may be transmitted during an unprotected sex. Initial symptoms of Herpes Simplex Virus includes pain or irritation of skin over the genital area and later causes sores that erupt and bleed. These sores although heal on medication but repeats with same symptoms.</p>

<h2>3. Candidiasis:</h2>
<p>Candidiasis (Thrush) is a yeast infection of the mouth or genitals. It is also very common HIV &#8211; AIDS infected patients. The symptoms of Candidiasis includes inflammation and a thick white coating on the mucous membranes of the mouth, tongue, vagina or esophagus (Candida esophagitis).</p>

<h2>4. Non-Hodgkin&#8217;s Lymphoma (NHL)</h2>
<p>Non-Hodgkin&#8217;s Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymph glands originating in the lymphocytes. The most common symptom of NHL is swelling of lymph nodes in the neck, armpit or groin which are usually painless. Other symptoms include fever, itchy skin, weight loss, night sweats, fatigue and sometimes coughing, difficulty breathing and chest pain.</p>

<h2>5. Salmonellosis</h2>
<p>Salmonellosis (food poisoning) is an infection caused by the salmonella bacterium. Its symptoms are severe diarrhea, fever, chills, abdominal pain and sometimes it causes vomiting.</p>

It  resembles Kaposi&#8217;s sarcoma. As the infection increases, symptoms include poor appetite, vomiting , fever, sweats, chills and weight loss.</p>

<h2>7. Viral Hepatitis</h2>
<p>Viral hepatitis is a viral infection of the liver. Its symptoms include yellowing of the skin and the whitening of the eyes, loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Hepatitis A, B and C are the most common among the several types.</p>

<p>Human Papillomavirus is also one of the most common causes of sexually transmitted disease like AIDS.  These viruses causes common warts while others causes warts over the genitals. HPV infection is considered serious as it causes cervical cancer in women and the risk is further increased in women infected with HIV.</p>

<h2>9. Cryptosporidiosis</h2>
<p>Cryptosporidiosis is an infection caused by ingesting of contaminated food or water. The parasite grows in the intestines and bile ducts. It can cause chronic diarrhea.</p>

The symptoms include persistent cough, fever, breathing trouble, fatigue, and weight loss. Sometimes lips and nail-beds may become blue.</p>

<h2>11. Kaposi&#8217;s Sarcoma (KS)</h2>
<p>Kaposi&#8217;s sarcoma is the most common cancer found among the HIV infected Aids patients. It is a tumor of the blood vessel wall. The most common symptoms includes pink, red or purple lesions over the skin and in the mouth. The first spots or bumps usually appear over the face, nose, mouth, arms, upper body or legs.</p>

<h2>12. Toxoplasmosis</h2>
<p>Toxoplasmosis is caused by a parasite that is primarily spread by cats. It is the most common cause of brain lesions in AIDS patients with advanced HIV disease. It may often leads to encephalitis, an infection of the brain. Its symptoms includes seizures, fatigue, disorientation, headaches and difficulty walking or speaking.</p>

<h2>13. Cytomegalovirus (CMV)</h2>
<p>Cytomegalovirus infection is a viral infection that can affect any organ of our body. A healthy immune system can inactivate the virus and make it dormant. If the immune system weakens, the virus progresses. Its symptoms include enlarged lymph nodes, fatigue, fever and pain in the muscles or throat. CMV may also cause damage to the eyes (retinitis), digestive tract (diarrhea), lungs (pneumonia), liver (hepatitis), or other organs.</p>
