Treatments
The Siddha Medicines mainly depend on the suvai (taste), veeriyam (potency), pirivu (division), seigai (action), natpu charakku (co-drugs), pagai charakku (anti drugs). For instance if we consider nellikai (Indian gooseberry) its medicinal property depends on its taste (bitterness), then its potency (cold thatpam) and its division is sweet. There are two types of treatments namely Internal medicine and External medicine.

It is the one which is taken orally or through other routes into the body. This medicine requires an adjuvant (thunai marundhu) vehicle (anu bhanam) and dietary restrictions (pathiyam). Most of the calcs (parpam), incenerations (chendooram), lehiyam (confections) tablets, decotions (kashayam), comes under Internal Medicine. There are 32 types of Internal Medicine.

The External Medicine deals mainly with the preparations that are pertained to skin. Most of the oils and paste comes under this category. There are 32 types External Medicine.
