Fruits and Vegetables for Diabetes Mellitus

Although fruits are rich source for fiber and nutrients they also comes with natural sugar which rises the blood sugar level. Hence there arises need for planned intake of fruits and vegetables so that it does not raises the blood glucose level. While planning the fruits to be taken as a part of diet it is always advisable to take fruits with low glycemic index. Fruits with low glycemic index does not raises the blood glucose level significantly.

Fruits with low glycemic level are as follows: apple, banana, guava, strawberry, black berry or jamun, peach, jack-fruit, star-fruit, water-melon, raisins and many more.Vegetables with low glycemic level are as follows: green peas, carrot, potato and so on.
